In order to access local network resources when off site - say, at home or a coffeeshop, you need to activate a VPN connection on your computer. VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN is an encrypted, secure connection between your machine and our corporate network.
Typically, you'll use a VPN when accessing computers via Remote Desktop Connection when off our corporate network.
How to Activate a VPN to access a computer via Remote Desktop Connection
- Locate Mission VPN inside of Network Tab (The network tab is typically located on the task bar next to volume control)
- Click and highlight “Mission VPN” then click “Connect”
- Once you connect, please enter your SPARCDOM credentials (This is the same user account and password you use to access your computer)
- Once you're connected, click the desired RDP shortcut to connect to the machine
- When the prompt launches, input your SPARCDOM credentials and click "Connect"
